本課程回顧並擴充如何分析與處理有關餐旅事業的資料的核心議題。其目的是要通過資料分析的實踐與研究，教導學生如何思考和管理複雜的真實資料。本課程將以實際理解（而非數學理論探討）和利用統計軟體（以SPSS爲主），通過資料分析技術以解決餐旅商務問題。課程討論的議題包括大數據的概念、資料數值和圖形的摘要與表達、假設檢驗、置信區間、計數和交叉製表、方差分析、回歸、主成分和聚類分析等。學生在完成本課程後，應該能夠批判性地思考數據資料並應用適當的統計推論程序分析得出的結論。學生在閱讀和教學上應預期英語材料的採用。This course is based on understanding the practical use (rather than mathematical theories) of data processing and analysis techniques to solve hospitality business problems. Major course topics include the concepts of big data, numerical and graphical summaries of data and presentation, counting, and cross-tabulation, analysis of variance, regression, factor (principal components) and cluster analyses. Students should expect English reading and teaching materials.
